Garfield Medical Center has a long history of excellent patient care. Started over 80 years ago as a one-room hospital, today Garfield is a 210-bed, full-service, acute-care facility that has steadily grown over time in size, scope and success.

QUALITY OF CARE

Garfield Medical Center is one of only nine California hospitals recognized as having better-than-average outcomes for community-acquired pneumonia patients for six years in a row. This illness is the number-one reason for hospitalization in the US and California. Garfield’s outcomes point to the excellence of care provided at the hospital and speak to the overall philosophy of treating the whole patient and giving patients the benefit of communicating in their native languages.

Additionally, Garfield received approval in 2007 from the LA County Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMS) as an ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) receiving center. This makes Garfield one of the hand-picked hospitals recognized for the excellence and timeliness of its care for true heart-attack patients.

LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION

Garfield Medical Center is located just south of highway 10, I block south of the Garfield exit. The facility is extremely accessible to the community.

Free transportation is provided to patients within a 10-mile radius.
