Garfield Medical Center’s three critical care units (ICU, CCU & CSU) are dedicated to providing care for patients who are critically ill and who require cardiac or respiratory monitoring twenty-four hours a day. The specialized units combine sophisticated medical technology with compassionate care. ICU, CCU and CSU at Garfield Medical Center have 22 licensed beds combined. Garfield Medical Center requires nursing staffs in the Critical Care Units to have completed critical care training. Patient care is offered under the direction of the patient’s personal physician who oversees and interdisciplinary team of health care professionals. Specialists are also available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
