This Medical/Surgical and Telemetry unit provides comprehensive nursing care to the acutely ill patients requiring inpatient hospital services. Patient care, while based on established standards to ensure quality, will be individualized through the ongoing use of the nursing process. Hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Types of Service offered: Services offered consist of adolescent 14 years and older, and adult through geriatric patient community. The types of services for the patients include but not limited to: - Cardiovascular disease
- Endocrinology/metabolic disorders
- Gastroenterologic disease
- Hematological disease
- Pulmonary disease
- Nephrology diseases/disorders
- Neurological diseases/disorders
- Gynecologic diseases/disorders
- Oncology diseases with/without chemotherapy and radiation therapy
- 24 hr. observation of patients who require diagnostic work-ups and medical or surgical treatment
- Any med/Surg patient requiring cardiac monitoring (telemetry)
When you are admitted to the hospital you need only to bring a few simple things for your hospital stay. These might include toiletries, a robe and non-skid slippers, clothes to go home in. Hospital gowns will be provided. Bring a detailed list of the medications your are currently taking, including any of the over the counter medications you routinely take. Bring your medications with you if your doctor has instructed you to. Bring your dentures, hearing aides, contact lenses or eyeglasses with you. When not in use please keep them in a safe place such as the bedside drawer. What not to bring Please do not bring any valuables, jewelry, credit cards, or large amounts of money with you the hospital. If you do have valuables, please have your family member or friend take them home for you. If this is not possible, notify your nurse who will make sure the valuables get placed in the hospital's safe. Please do not bring any personal electrical appliance with you. Do not bring your cell phones, as it can cause disturbances in the telemetry on the unit. |
