August 20, 2012 Dear Physicians, Thank you for entering this site to learn more about the activities of the organized Medical Staff. The Medical Staff Office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30. We will be pleased to assist you, or to connect you with the department that can assist you. We have added several documents here for your reference. We will endeavor to keep current information for you; we will also email and fax you if you keep those data current with medical staff services department. Stay informed, read your Medical Staff Newsletter and bulletins from the Medical Staff Office. On this website you will find your Medical Staff Bylaws, General Rules, Department Specific Rules and Policies such as the newly revised Code of Conduct: Discrimination Harassment, Intimidation, and Disruptive Behavior, as well Productive Interaction. In this pre-Joint Commission year it is imperative we keep the medical records delinquency rate at a minimum. With regards to Core Measures, we have no choice; it will affect hospital reimbursement and very soon individual physician reimbursement too. And there is no getting around Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), so make sure you have passwords set up as soon as possible. September marks the beginning of election season at GMC. If you are interested in running for office, now is the time to make that known to your Medical Executive Committee. The Nominating Committee will meet on or about September 4th to develop the slate of officers and ballots will go out thereafter. Nominations and Ballots will also go out for Department Chairs, so let the Medical Staff Office know now if you’d like to be nominated. If you would like to be a committee Chair, please contact your Chief of Staff Elect, Lung Chang, MD as he will also be appointing those Chairs in the 4th quarter. On a lighter note, December 16th is your Holiday Party at the Ritz Carlton and it will be here before we know it!
