The volunteer program at Garfield Medical Center encompasses a multifaceted group of volunteers that distinguishes individuals into one of the following categories: Auxiliary, and Junior Volunteers. Volunteers are differentiated by age, responsibilities and time commitment.
Auxiliary Volunteers This group consists of our adult volunteers who support most departments throughout the hospital in addition to running the gift shop at Garfield Medical Center. All the proceeds from our Gift Shop go back to our community for Nursing School Scholarships or other funding and contributions.

Junior Volunteers This group consist of our high school, college, or career building volunteers who provide support for particular departments throughout the hospital. Garfield Medical Center recognizes the “Community Service” requirements of high schools and colleges in the San Gabriel Valley and has created the Junior Volunteer Program to provide adolescents with an opportunity to volunteer in the healthcare setting. Garfield Medical Center recognizes the importance of and embraces the opportunity to provide healthcare experience and exposure to college students with an emphasis in medicine. The goal for the Junior Volunteer Program is to complete 100 hours of service. A certificate will be provided upon completion.
