General Visiting Hours: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM

  • 24 hours a day for immediate family
  • 10 minutes at the top of each hour for other visitors

For the safety and comfort of all of our patients the following Visitor Guidelines apply:

  • Two visitors at a time are allowed in the patient room
  • Children under 16 are not permitted, except siblings, in Post-Partum
  • Children cannot be left unattended in the lobby, waiting rooms, cafeteria or patient rooms

Quiet Time

Our goal at Garfield Medical Center is to promote a restful healing environment.

We practice Quiet Time daily between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM and nightly from 10:00pm-6:00am

During this time we ask that visitors do not use cell phones in Patient Care units or hallways, and speak quietly when visiting in the room. We encourage lights out and televisions lowered to promote the comfort and rest of all of our patients.

Free Wi-Fi

Garfield offers free Wi-Fi services to visitors and patients.

Smoke-Free Facility

It is the policy of the hospital to provide a safe, healthful and comfortable work environment for all employees, visitors, patients, physicians and customers by prohibiting smoking in the Hospital building and grounds. We believe that a smoke-free policy is consistent with our leadership role in the health care field and contributes to employee wellness and productivity. This policy is consistent with the requirements of Monterey Park Municipal Code (MPMC) Chapter 6.20.

This policy applies to all Hospital employees, visitors, patients, physicians and customers and is in effect 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the facility, including restrooms, elevators, stairways, courtyards, plazas, lobbies, any atrium or patio, corridors, hallways, seating areas, waiting rooms, reception areas, parking structures, outdoor eating areas and outside of the building. Smoking is also prohibited within 20 feet of any of these places. Violation of this policy will be regarded as any other violation of Hospital policy and may result in corrective action.
